i want to do so many things but I don’t have the drive to do them once I figure out how much work it’ll take to do them and besides I waste all my time so everything takes way longer then it should to get done.

I was having problems with photoshop last night which killed any drive to keep working on this, but here’s some color practice.
I forgot to proof the colors of the picture I’m working on before I started it so now all my pretty saturated colors are dull and ugly when I try to save. It ALSO FLATTENS OUT MY PRETTY SHADING AHRUGHALDKJF

I’ve been using photoshop for EIGHT YEARS, you’d think I would have found a work around on the internet by now.

practicing a different way of shading on some old artwork. I wish I could have finished it but the legs were giving me trouble :(
Yeah, I don’t have the money for a 3DS right now, and I haven’t been on LiveJournal in a while. Most of my friends don’t use it anymore… I could go back but I don’t feel like I have anything to say on it that I don’t already say on twitter/here. The days of writing paragraphs about what I’ve done each day are long gone.
I would like to RP on LiveJournal but I want to do something with original characters and I don’t know where to start looking for that kind of RP heheh. (´~`;)
i have a bunch of ocs that I still really love but their story bugs me because it’s got good bits and pieces but most of it is shitty shit and needs a complete retooling but i don’t have the drive to try and fix it.

Also I’ve spent a lot of time looking at code and I understand it pretty well now so if you need help just ask me 8)
I’m done with Illustration class for the semester, so I think it’s time to show off my thesis. :P
It’s supposed to be three separate files but I don’t trust tumblr to display them properly
For drawing anatomy, learning about skeletal structure and musculature is pretty important. For practice you could try finding a really good reference of human muscles (maybe rent a book from the library or find a link to a free art book on one of the many artist blogs on tumblr?) and try applying those muscles onto quick figure drawings. Here’s a great tutorial on ‘drawing beef’ that should help as well. Looking at reference pictures will help too, even if it’s not the exact pose you need because you can’t always remember every little detail about the human body. Or at least I can’t :P Measuring body parts is important to make sure everything is relatively correct. Here’s a cute little picture that shows the basics of correct measurements. You don’t have to follow it to a T (especially if you’re doing more cartoony work which calls for exaggeration) but it’s still helpful to keep the basic proportions in mind.
As for noses (and anything really) I find it helps to ‘construct’ the object out of planes. I’m not really an expert on noses though; you’d be better off looking at tutorials online because they can probably tell you a lot more than I can.
Hope this advice helped :)
